Kolme päivää Roomassa – Three days in Rome

Kolme päivää Roomassa – Three days in Rome

Pietarinkirkko on valtava. Menimme bussilla kiertoajelulle. Paljon taidetta, patsaita, Michelangelon freskot Sixtuksen kappelissa. Vatikaanin jälkeen menimme kävelemään Rooman keskustaan. Näimme Espanjalaiset portaat, Kolmen suihkulähteen aukion, ensimmäisen kuninkaan, Emmanuel Vittorion palatsin jne. Kolmantena päivänä menimme Colosseumille ja Palatium-kukkuloille. Colosseum on vaikuttava. Olimme opastetuilla kävelyillä molemmissa. Oli todella kuuma. Luulen, että  oli enemmän kuin 35 astetta. Colosseumin jälkeen menimme katsomaan Totuuden suuta. Sinne oli kamala jono. No, käsivarret ovat vielä jäljellä meillä kaikilla. Suu ei niellyt niitä! Illalla menimme taas trattoriaan. Söimme pizzaa ja pastaa, tyypillistä italialaista ruokaa. Neljännen päivän aamuna kävimme Pantheonissa. Se on valtava. Sitten kävelimme Capitolin kukkuloilla. Museo oli suljettu. Kävelyn jälkeen menimme hakemaan matkatavaramme hotellista ja menimme junalla Civita Vecchiaan, jossa Costa Serena odotti meitä Välimeren risteilylle. On the 27th of July I travelled with my husband and twins to Rome for three days. We lived in the Starhotel Michelangelo near to Vatican. The hotel was good. We had two bedrooms and bath and a little balcon. On the first day we walked in Vatican. St Peter’s Church is huge. We took a turistbus and had a sightseeing tour around Rome. Rome is much bigger than I had thought. After the bustouring we walked around and saw Trev’s Fountain. It’s great. Then we went to a trattoria and had some Italian food and wine. On the second day we had a guided tour in Vatican. There was too much to see for one visit. Lots of art, statues, Michelangelo’s frescos in the Sixtus Chapel. After Vatican we went to see the centre of Rome. We saw the Spanish stairs, Square of the three fountains, Emmanuel Vittorio’s palace. On the third day we visited the Colosseum and Palatium hills. The Colosseum is impressive. We had a guided tour in those both places. It was so hot! I think it was more than 35 Celsius. After the Colosseum we went to see the Mouth of the Truth too. We still have our arms left! In the evening we went to eat to a trattoria again. We ate typical Italian food, pizza and pasta and so on. In the morning of the fourth day we visited the Pantheon. It’s massive. Then we had a little walk on the Capitol’s hills. Then we went to the hotel and took our luggage and took a train to Civita Vecchia, where Costa Serena was waiting for us and we started our Mediterranean cruise.

  1. O Satu that must have been so wonderful. Rome is one of those cities I would love to visit once. I have never been in Italy even.
    Bye,
    Marian

  5. Satu, very interesting trip! I'm glad you've seen one of the most wonderful cities in the world, Rome. I've been there 3 years ago but watching your photos remember all if it was last week. I loved the Pantheon and Trevi fountain more.Did you throw any money in the fountain? I did!

  6. Wow, what a wonderful experience this must have been! I have never been to Italy, but would love to go someday. For now, I really enjoyed seeing your pictures.
